Journey Upstream is a short film I created. It discusses the salmon migration through the experiences of a female fish traveling upriver to lay her eggs. The main character, Melody, I created first as a 3D concept in zBrush and maya before creating the clay sculpture for the mold of the stop motion puppet. The face was made by using 3D prints from the original model. The fish is made from silicone that was then layered in paper scales.
Small selection of shots from the short film "Journey Upstream." The puppets where shot on a blue screen and then composited in After Effects with backgrounds and paper textures.
Original music composed by Preston O'bryan.
Skeleton in the Jungle

Little test of a Skeleton puppet I made from wire and hardened polymer clay. The tree log is the same but painted. The goal of the skeleton was to make it a stylized puppet using anatomical references. Sweat beads were added using 2D animating composited over the stop-motion animation.
Swing Test

For this I used marker paper and black construction paper layered to create a background. The puppet is bits of paper sewn together to make rotating joints and was designed in illustrator and cut out using a fusion laser.
